Donald L. Rosenstein, MD is Professor of Psychiatry and Medicine at the University of North Carolina where he is Director of the Comprehensive Cancer Support Program and Division Head of General Adult Psychiatry. Dr. Rosenstein earned his undergraduate degree in psychology from Wesleyan University, his medical degree from Northwestern University School of Medicine, and completed his residency training in psychiatry at Yale University. He is the former Clinical Director of the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) and Past-President of both the Academy of Consultation Liaison Psychiatry and the American Psychosocial Oncology Society (APOS). Dr. Rosenstein and Justin Yopp, PhD are the authors of The Group: Seven Widowed Fathers Reimagine Life (Oxford University Press). His current research projects include a multi-site intervention to address cancer-related financial toxicity and screening initiatives for suicide risk in the medical setting.
