Dr Jane Walker is a senior clinical researcher at the University of Oxford, UK, and a consultation-liaison psychiatrist. Her work focuses on the psychiatric care of patients with severe medical illnesses, including those at the end of life.
Dr Walker is an expert in the design and delivery of clinical trials in C-L psychiatry. She led the day-to-day running of a trial for patients with functional neurological symptoms before co-leading the three SMaRT Oncology trials, which evaluated a collaborative care treatment program for patients with cancer and depression. Most recently, she co-led The HOME Study, a large multicenter trial evaluating the effectiveness of proactive C-L psychiatry for older medical inpatients with Dr Michael Sharpe.
Dr Walker also has a passion for coaching and mentoring and, as the 2022 ACLP Foundation Research Professor, is currently supporting the work and professional development of three ACLP Early Career Researcher Mentees.
