Dr. Esplen is Professor and Vice- Chair, Department of Psychiatry, Temerty Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto, former Clinician and Scientist at University Health Network and founded de Souza Institute –a National Centre of education for oncology health professionals. She held CIHR and NCIC Career Scientist awards completing studies on psychological instruments or psychotherapeutic treatments for individuals diagnosed with cancer or receiving genetic information. Studies also included interventions addressing body image or the management of grief and loss. Dr. Esplen gives numerous workshops and keynotes and is former recipient of CAPO’s lifetime achievement award and the IPOS Bernard Fox Memorial Award.
