Dr. Khushbu Shah is a dual board-certified child and adolescent psychiatrist. She completed both her medical education and public health training at the University of Illinois at Chicago. She completed her general psychiatry training at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, where she served as Chief Resident. She then completed her child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship and a Biomedical Ethics certificate program at Vanderbilt University.
Dr. Shah joined Lurie Children's Hospital and the Northwestern University community in the Fall of 2021. Her clinical time is spent on the Inpatient Unit and the Partial Hospitalization Program, and she serves as a Medical Director of Psychiatric Acute Care Psychiatric Services. Dr. Shah is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Northwestern University. She is actively involved in the CAP fellowship training program and serves as Director of the Schools & Communities CAP training rotation and didactics course series. Dr. Shah has a special interest in acute care, developmental trauma, and school mental health, and collaborative systems of care.
