Dr.Lopez-Pastrana began her studies in the natural science field at the University of Puerto Rico, obtaining her B.S. in Biology. She graduated from Medical School at Universidad Nacional Pedro Henriquez Urena, Dominican Republic. She started to practice medicine as a general physician in a Psychiatric Hospital, where she managed the acute psychiatric treatment and medical comorbidities of patients. She did post-doctoral training in medical research at Temple University. She completed the residency training in Psychiatry at the University of Puerto Rico and the Consultation and Liaison (CL) Psychiatry Fellowship training at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital (TJUH). She is an assistant professor of Psychiatry at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. Dr. Lopez-Pastrana is the attending supervisor of the Psychiatry services for oncology and the medically ill, medical student preceptor, CL fellowship associate program director, program director of CME CL Psychiatry series, and attending supervisor of Jefferson Addiction Multidisciplinary Services (JAMS). Dr. Lopez Pastrana is focused on treating patients with comorbid medical conditions, cancer, and neurocognitive disorders. Dr. Lopez-Pastrana has been working with the Latino community in Philadelphia since 2010.
