Dr. Lad earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Rutgers University and a Master's degree in Biomedical Sciences from New York Medical College. She then pursued her Doctor of Medicine from St. George’s University in Grenada where she was awarded the Gold Humanism Honor Society. She subsequently completed her psychiatry residency at the Institute of Living at Hartford Hospital, where she co-founded a balint group for emergency residents and was awarded a special recognition award for her dedication to resident wellness. Dr. Lad completed her fellowship in psychosomatic medicine/psycho-oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. During her time at MSKCC, she was honored with the Jimmy Holland Excellence Award for her outstanding achievements. In the summer of 2021, Dr. Lad joined the full time faculty position at consult liaison attending at Montefiore Medical Center, Moses Hospital. She currently serves as the Associate Director of the Consult Liaison Service at Moses Hospital, as well as the Clerkship Director for Moses. Her interests lie in the field of psychosomatic medicine/psycho-oncology, with a particular focus on addressing the needs of underserved populations in the Bronx. Dr. Lad's research interests are centered on improving accessibility to cancer treatment and developing comprehensive approaches to care that take into account the social determinants of health. In addition to her clinical and research work, she has a strong interest in physician wellness, having created a Balint group for internal medicine residents and being an active member of the hospital's wellness committee.
