Dr. Eken is a first year research-track psychiatry resident at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Western Psychiatric Hospital. Her clinical and research interests include CL psychiatry, OCD treatment, interventional psychiatry and health equity research. She earned her medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine where she completed the Health Equity Certificate Program. Her research work so far has focused on investigating racial and ethnic inequities in access to culturally competent care in individuals with psychiatric diagnoses. She has also worked on quality improvement projects aiming to improve delirium assessments in the ICU setting. She is passionate about exploring the influence of cultural differences on diagnostic and treatment inequities in psychiatric care, and interested in developing novel interventional treatments for individuals with comorbid psychiatric and complex medical conditions.
