Meghan Schott, DO, FAPA currently works at Children’s National as the Medical Director of Psychiatric Emergency Services and is an Assistant Professor at the George Washington University Medical School in pediatrics, psychiatry, and emergency medicine. She has become an advocate in the community serving committees on local and national levels for organizations like DC Hospital Association (DCHA), Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP), Medical Society of DC (MSDC), Academy of Consult Liaison Psychiatrists (ACLP), American Academy of Emergency Psychiatry (AAEP), and American Medical Association (AMA). Due to these advocacy efforts, she has become a Child Health Advocate Institute (CHAI) affiliate faculty member. She also serves on several hospital committees. She is actively involved in medical education and serves as the psychiatry clerkship site director. In addition, she is a member of George Washington’s Medical School admissions committee and the LCME subcommittee. She actively pursing a certificate in medical education. Her teaching aspirations are not limited to medical education. She also serves as an executive board member for George Washington Women in Leadership program, an Oberlin College Alumni Recruiting Network Coordinator, the Pink Boots Scholarship Committee, and mentors high school and college in STEM.
