I created the Workplace Violence Prevention for Healthcare 6-hour Certificate Program for International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS), which recommends the use of an evidence-based violence risk assessment tool as a primary violence prevention strategy. Such a tool has not been utilized at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center. I recommended a pilot program to our multidisciplinary team and provided background of several different tools. Broset Violence Checklist was selected by the committee, and I assisted in creating goals and identifying key measurables.
