Seema Quraishi, MD is the Director of the Division of Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry and Director of the Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry Fellowship at Mount Sinai Beth Israel. She is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and is the current President of the New York Society for Liaison Psychiatry.
Prior to joining Mount Sinai Beth Israel, Dr. Quraishi was an attending psychiatrist at Tisch Hospital and an Assistant Professor in Psychiatry at the NYU Langone School of Medicine, where she was awarded the Psychosomatic Medicine Fellowship Teacher of the Year. She has also worked as a psychiatric consultant to the Recanati Miller Transplant Institute and was an attending psychiatrist at The World Trade Center Mental Health Program, both at Mount Sinai Medical Center. Dr. Quraishi completed her fellowship in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry at Beth Israel Medical Center and her Psychiatry residency at Maimonides Medical Center. Before becoming a psychiatrist, she completed 2 years of Internal Medicine residency at The New York Hospital Queens. In addition to clinical care of patients, she is involved in teaching fellows, residents, and medical students. Her areas of interest include: clinical education, collaborative care, psychotherapy and psychopharmacology of the medically ill, mindfulness, culinary medicine and nutritional psychiatry.
