Casey Gilman is a first-year Psychiatry resident physician at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. She attended medical school in Puerto Rico, completing her MD degree in 2022. She received her bachelor's degree in Neuroscience and Behavior with specialization in Biology and received departmental honors for her work on somatosensation at Harvard Medical School. She is a highly motivated advocate for women from her mentorship of young women in STEM through her post-baccalaureate research position at Boston Children's hospital to serving on the executive committee of the national American Medical Women's Association during her medical training. She has led a number of philanthropic initiatives to support women with breast cancer and local women's shelters during her time in Puerto Rico. Collectively these experiences greatly align with her personal aims to be a leader in health advocacy, academics and research, and in clinical practice for underserved communities.
