Dr. David Fipps is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine and a senior associate consultant in consultation liaison psychiatry, transplant surgery psychiatry, and bariatric surgery psychiatry at Mayo Clinic. He graduated summa cum laude from Southern Wesleyan University with a Bachelor of Science in biology and a minor in chemistry. He completed his medical school training at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (in Bradenton, Florida), his adult psychiatry residency at the University of South Carolina (in Greenville, SC), his consultation liaison psychiatry fellowship at Mayo Clinic (in Rochester, MN), and his addictions psychiatry fellowship at Mayo Clinic (in Rochester, MN). He is a 2019 William Webb Fellow, serves on the ACLP mentorship subcommittee, and serves on the residency education subcommittee as the chair of the recruitment/mentorship workgroup. He is also the administrator of the CL psychiatry Facebook group: CLPEN.
