Medical Student
University of Texas Southwestern Medical School
I am a second-year medical student at UT Southwestern with a background in business and finance. I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a B.B.A. in Business Honors and Finance in 2019 and my Master of Science in Finance in 2020. I am interested in helping healthcare organizations succeed through organizational excellence, process efficiency, and patient safety. I have a vested interest in preventing suicide, as I lost my two-years-younger brother to suicide in 2018. Additionally, I worked for a year (2020-2021) in healthcare policy equity research with Chris Meekins at Raymond James, and I believe that top-down change is necessary to defend the health and longevity of patients of all ages. I am passionate about informing positive, meaningful change in health legislation through evidence-based research. The current project aligns with my goals of reducing suicide, promoting patient safety, informing health policy, and changing the health system for the better. Additionally, my educational, personal, and professional experiences inform my work as a liaison between medical practitioners, health system leaders, policymakers, and politicians.
