Dr Patricia Ibeziako is an Associate Professor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School and the Associate Chief of Clinical Services and Director of the Quality Program in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Boston Children’s Hospital. In these roles, she oversees the Department’s clinical operations and programs across multiple sites and levels of care and mental health quality assurance initiatives within the institution. Prior to her current positions, Dr Ibeziako was the Director of the Boston Children’s Psychiatry Consultation Service for 11 years. She has been at the forefront of developing national clinical pathways and guidelines related to consultation-liaison psychiatry including the first national scientific statement by the American Heart Association on psychosocial outcomes and interventions in congenital heart disease through the lifespan. She has also conducted studies highlighting pediatric mental health boarding and led advocacy efforts to improve access to care for children and adolescents experiencing mental health crises. Dr Ibeziako is a distinguished fellow of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP) and the recipient of the 2018 AACAP Simon Wile Award for Outstanding leadership in pediatric consultation-liaison psychiatry.
