Medical Student
University of Maryland School of Medicine
I am a third year medical student at the University of Maryland School of Medicine who is interested in applying for a psychiatry residency position. Prior to this project, I worked on research involve ACEs questionnaires in the pediatric population and the utility of discussing unknown stressors between caregivers and patients. I am a mentor at the PTECH program at Dunbar High School in Baltimore, Maryland, providing tutorship and guidance to the youth in order to facility goals and dreams. In the past, I volunteered for Baltimore City Public Schools Gifted and Advanced Learning to provide and teach lesson plans for elementary school kids once a week. Before entering medical school, I worked for three years on Kennedy Krieger's Neurobehavioral Unit, which is a 16-bed inpatient unit dedicated to the assessment and treatment of children and young adults with developmental disabilities and intellectual disabilities who have severe behavioral problems. During my clinical rotations, I have worked in multiple psychiatric services; consult-liaison, addiction psychiatry, child and adolescence, as well as a community outreach program that provides home visits for individuals with severe mental illness. I hope to bring my love for empowering others to the field of psychiatry and learn as much as I can from those I come in contact with.
