Dr. Dorothy Bourdet completed her medical and general psychiatry training at Wayne State University and completed her child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at the University of Michigan. She is dual board certified in adult and child psychiatry and now works as a pediatric consult-liaison psychiatry attending at the University of Michigan’s C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital. Prior to beginning her medical training, Dorothy worked as a journalist. Her background in writing, editing, and reporting in Michigan and abroad informs her diverse research and clinical interests, which includes pediatric psychopharmacology and child welfare. She co-developed a quality improvement project on capacity assessments for Wayne State University/Detroit Medical Center internal medicine residents while working as a psychiatry resident and is now co-leading an interdisciplinary effort to develop a clinical practice guideline on capacity assessments at the University of Michigan.
