Division Director and Service Chief, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry

Nasuh Malas is currently the Division Director and Service Chief of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, within the Department of Psychiatry, at the Univeristy of Michigan. He previously served as Director of Pediatric Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry from August 2014-August 2023. He also is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and the Department of Pediatrics. Within the University of Michigan, he also serves as the PI for the Zero Suicide Initiative at C.S. Mott Children's Hospital, the Chair of the Mental Health Quality and Safety Committee and is the Physician Lead on the Workplace Violence Prevention Program for Michigan Medicine. Nationally, he has served for seven years on the PRITE and Child PRITE Executive Board and currently serves as the Chair for the Child Psychiatry Committee for the American Association for Emergency Psychiatry. Dr. Malas also is a committee member for the Physically Ill Child Committee, Emergency Psychiatry Commitee and Clinical Essentials Committee through the American Academy of Pediatrics. He also serves as part of the Steering Committee for the Vizient Pediatric Mental Health Benchmarking Study.
