Justin Lewin obtained completed his undergraduate education at Bates College with a Bachelor of Science in biology at Bates College. He then completed his medical school education, his psychiatry residency training, and psychosomatic medicine fellowship training at New York University School of Medicine. He has since worked as a consultation liaison psychiatrist at Bellevue Hospital. He has interests in catatonia and the management of agitation in the inpatient setting.
