Biostatistician
NYU Long Island School of Medicine
As a biostatistician at NYU Winthrop Hospital and an instructor in the Department of Foundations Medicine at NYU Long Island School of Medicine, I provide statistical support to medical and basic science research projects. I collaborate directly with physicians, health care professionals, and researchers and advises them on the design, data management, sample size requirements, and analysis of clinical studies. I also analyze research data using standard statistical methods and provides written reports of methods and results. I have served as a member of the Data Safety Monitoring Board for a clinical trial entitled “Randomized Double Blind Control Trial on Effects of Ranolazine on New Onset Atrial fibrillation Rates in Post- Operative Cardiac Surgery Patients”. As the DSMB statistician, I presented a summary of the statistical report generated by the study statistician and guided the DSMB in discussions, if statistical or data issues arose. I have worked on the design and analysis of clinical trials and on the data analyses for numerous NIH-funded research projects. As a co-investigator on grants, I provide statistical expertise in the design, analysis, and interpretation of results for all aims. I assist in performing data cleaning and preliminary statistical analysis of the data. I also aid in the writing of statistical components of manuscripts. I have a broad background in biostatistics and the training, expertise, and motivation necessary to successfully carry out the statistical components of many research projects.
