Dr. Rachel Caravella is the Director of the NYU Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry Service - Manhattan Campus. She is also the site Director for CL Fellowship at NYU. She takes immense pride in supervising trainees at all levels and feels humbled to be working alongside an incredible team of clinicians at NYU. Dr. Caravella is a graduate of NYPH / NYSPI / Columbia University Medical Center’s Adult Psychiatry Residency Training Program where she also served as Chief Resident in her PGY4 year. She completed Psychosomatic Medicine Fellowship and Women’s Mental Health Fellowship also at Columbia University Medical Center.
Dr. Caravella’s interests include quality improvement & systems-based practice, health equity in CL, psychiatric care of critically medically ill patients, telemedicine, delirium, transplant psychiatry, psychotherapeutic interventions, legal and ethical issues in C-L psychiatry, and women’s mental health. She has presented workshops, case conferences, oral papers, and posters on a variety of clinical and academic topics at several national meetings including APA, AAP, ACLP, & AADPRT. Dr. Caravella lives in Westchester with her husband and two young daughters.
