I am a double board-certified psychiatrist with over 20 years of general psychiatry and consultation liaison experience in both academic and clinical settings. As a professor of psychiatry at Western Michigan University's Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine, I have continued to pursue my passion of teaching and scholarly activities while continuing the clinical pursuit in hospital and outpatient clinical setting. I am the founder and medical director of Kalamazoo TMS and Behavioral Health which is the only TMS provider in southwest Michigan. I also proudly serve as president and board member of the Kalamazoo County Medical Society and serve as house of delegate at the Michigan Medical Society which stives to promote the betterment of public health and the medical profession. I am also currently serving as the Governor of region 5 for American Medical Women Association (AMWA) this position serve the AMWA’s membership in Michigan and in 5 neighboring States. I am also the founder and president of AMWA@WMed, local chapter of AMWA. Clinically, I have taken interest in a broad spectrum of psychiatric issues, my real passion is women's behavioral health. My previous specialty of dermatology makes psychodermatology my next passion along with psychosomatic medicine. I have authored a textbook Pediatric Psychodermatology: A Clinical Manual of Child and Adolescent Psychocutaneous Disorders. I have written over peer reviewed 60 articles and book chapters and over 40 national and international presentations including several at Academy of Consultation Liaison Psychiatry and European Association of Psychosomatic Medicine.
