Michelle Linke Shafa, MD is a fellow of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Mayo Clinic - Rochester. She graduated with departmental and Latin honors from University of Missouri - Columbia with bachelors' degrees in English Language Arts and Psychology. She completed a Master of Education degree at Lehman College during her time of corps service through Teach for America in the South Bronx. She attended Columbia University to fulfill her pre-medical coursework and matriculated into medical school at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson in New Jersey. During medical school, she earned Distinction in Service to the Community and was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society. She has completed her adult psychiatry residency at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota where she was a founding member of the Clinician Educator Track in Psychiatry. She is currently serving in her role of Chief Fellow for the child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at Mayo Clinic. Her interests include the intersection of perinatal mental health and young child development as well as investing in the clinical education of future physicians.
