Dr. Lubrano (di Ciccone) started medical school at the Università di Padova, Italy and received her MD degree from the Instituto Tecnologico de Santo Domingo (INTEC). She completed her residency and a Psychosomatic Medicine fellowship at the Mt. Sinai School of Medicine, Cabrini Medical Center, NY, NY. Thereafter she held a position of Instructor at Memorial-Sloan Kettering in the department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. Subsequently, Dr. Lubrano was an Assistant Director of the Psychiatric Consultation Service at Tampa General Hospital. In her academic role with the University of South Florida (USF) she served as the Psychiatry and Neurology Clerkship Director from February 2008 to June 2015. She served as the Director of the Psychiatric Emergency Department at the James A. Haley VA from 2011 to 2014. In December 2012 she joined Moffitt Cancer Center, Tampa, Florida until January 2023, when she left her Senior Member position to join in February 2023 the department of Psychology and Psychiatry at Mayo Clinic Florida where she currently holds a position of Senior Associate Consultant. Dr. Lubrano is board certified in Psychiatry, Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry and Hospice and Palliative Medicine. She is a Fellow of the Academy of Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry (FACLP). Her clinical interests are in psycho-oncology, end-of-life care, communication skills training, psychopharmacology and psychiatric aspects of pain, delirium, and palliative care with focus in oncology.
