Dr. Gopalan is Associate Professor of Psychiatry, Assistant Professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences, Chief of Psychiatry for Magee-Womens Hospital, and Medical Director of the Psychiatry Consultation-Liaison service across 9 of the hospitals in the UPMC system. She has also been one of the faculty directors for the psychiatry residency’s Academic Administrator Clinician Educator (AACE) track since 2014 and is a faculty co-advisor to the Reproductive Psychiatry and Women’s Mental Health Area of Concentration at Western Psychiatric Hospital. She has been active in programmatic development around CL psychiatry, perinatal mental health, and in subspecialty integrated care. Her interests include CL psychiatry, health care administration, resident education, perinatal mental health including perinatal addiction/dual diagnosis and trauma-related disorders.
