Meredith Spada attended Vanderbilt University for her undergrad degree in Neuroscience. She then earned her masters in education at the University of Pennsylvania and taught high school biology and physical science in South Philadelphia prior to attending medical school at the Penn State University College of Medicine. She completed general psychiatry residency and child psychiatry fellowship at UPMC. During her residency/ child fellowship, she also earned a certificate in the women's mental health and reproductive psychiatry area of concentration. As an attending, Dr. Spada primarily splits her time between seeing consults at UPMC's tertiary women's hospital and providing telephonic consultation to pediatricians in Western PA through the UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh TiPS program. She is also an associate program director for the general psychiatry residency at UPMC and co-Director for the residency program's Academic Administrator, Clinician Educator Track, as well as co-Director the the residency program's Women's Mental Health and Reproductive Psychiatry Area of Concentration. She has interests in perinatal psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry, collaborative care, program development and implementation, and residency training and education.
