Carla Avellan Herrera is originally from Ecuador, where she completed medical school at the Universidad Catolica Santiago de Guayaquil. She pursued residency training in Psychiatry at Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center and Geriatric Psychiatry Fellowship at Mount Sinai Hospital, both in New York. She is currently a a Consultation Liaison Fellow at Mount Sinai Beth Israel Hospital in New York. Her interest include: Neurodegenerative diseases, psychopharmacology of the medically ill as well as the acute and chronic neuro-psychiatric manifestations of COVID-19.
