Dr. Mark Nickels is the Director of Transplant Psychiatry, having worked with the Liver, Kidney and Heart Transplant programs for 25 years. He has a special interest in working at the interface between psychiatry and medicine/surgery, having provided psychiatric consultation in general hospital settings, having been a long-time consultant to the Strong Epilepsy Center, having worked extensively with primary care providers including in primary care settings, with bariatric surgeons, and with providers in the Cancer Center. He is also the Interim Director of the Inpatient Psychiatric Consultation-Liaison Services, and is the Director of the Psychiatry Residency program.
