Dr. Hökelekli graduated from Hacettepe University physician-scientist combined training program in Ankara, Turkey. During her doctoral work, she investigated neurobiological underpinnings of depression and anxiety in animals, thereafter, completed a postdoctoral research fellowship in Mayo Clinic, Minnesota in behavioral neurology. She is currently a PGY3 psychiatry- research track resident at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.
