Dr. Xavier Jimenez is Director of Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. He completed psychiatry residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, followed by psychosomatic medicine fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital at Harvard Medical School. Prior to joining Northwell Health one year ago, he worked in CL Psychiatry at the Cleveland Clinic for over 7 years and served in a number of liaison psychiatry roles in departments ranging from epilepsy, spine/orthopedics, dermatology, bariatrics, and transplant. He also served as the director of the Chronic Pain Rehabilitation Program and Department in the Neurological Institute. He is a fellow of the Academy of Consultation Liaison Psychiatry, and is academically active in various forms of the intersection between medicine and psychiatry, focusing on chronic pain, functional somatic syndromes, medically-unexplained symptoms, abnormal illness behavior, and integrated care models.
