Alba Pergjika is board certified in adult and child and adolescent psychiatry. She is the medical director of the Psychiatry and Behavioral Health Consultation Liaison Service at Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago and an Assistant Professor at Northwestern Feinberg School of Medicine. She received her medical degree from Saint George’s University and graduated Cum Laude from her master’s in public health degree at Saint George’s University. Dr. Pergjika completed her adult psychiatry residency at Baystate Medical Center, and her child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis Missouri. She has been a member of American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry since 2014 and a member of the Academy of Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry since 2019. Most of her work is focused on treating medically ill children with comorbid psychiatric conditions on the consultation service. She has been a part of several hospital wide initiatives to improve the standardization of care of patients with behavioral health presentations in the Emergency Department and the pediatric floors. Dr. Pergjika has presented her work on the proactive consultation service on the general pediatric floor at conferences both nationally and internationally. She has co-authored published articles, posters, and lead clinical perspective sessions at national conferences on acute management of behavioral dysregulation in children, and topics such as the impact of cannabinoids in youth, and the selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor black box warning. Dr. Pergjika is also a member of the education committee at Lurie Children's.
