Shruti Mutalik is a Transplant and Consultation Liaison Psychiatrist at the Mount Sinai Hospital. She has served as an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai since January 2020.Prior to her current position, she served as a military physician in the US Army. She served as Chief of the Psychiatric Consultation Liaison Services at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. She completed a nine month long deployment to Kuwait and Jordan, which she regards as among the most memorable experiences in her life.She completed her Psychiatry residency at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City. She completed her Consultation Liaison Psychiatry fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York city, and her Geriatric Psychiatry fellowship at Zucker Hillside Hospital/Northwell Health.Her professional interests include living donors, understanding altruism, organ transplant, military psychiatry, psychotherapy, psycho-oncology, medical education, residency and fellowship education, and ethics. Her personal interests include singing and songwriting, and writing creative fiction and nonfiction. She sings, performs and records with her band Sonic Animals. She lives in New York City with her husband.
