Linda L.M. Worley, MD is the UAMS College of Medicine Chief Wellness Officer and a Physicians' Executive Coach. She is a Professor of Psychiatry and Obstetrics and Gynecology at UAMS and Regional Associate Dean Emeritus of the UAMS Northwest College of Medicine in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
She is Past President of both the Association for Academic Psychiatry and of the Academy of Consultation Liaison Psychiatry and Chaired the American Psychiatric Association (APA) Scientific Program Committee in 2018.
Dr. Worley’s career has been fueled by her determination to prevent and relieve suffering. She is known for creating innovative and impactful programs and is a sought out mentor. She founded the now campus wide UAMS Student Wellness Program and the UAMS Faculty Wellness Program and was instrumental in the modification of Arkansas medical licensure questions to promote physician self-care. In addition, she founded the ANGELS Women’s Mental Health Consultation Service and authored the ANGELS Women’s Mental Health Evidence Based Guidelines for the state for many years. She received the APA Gold Award for leading a model treatment program for dually diagnosed pregnant and parenting women with their children (Arkansas CARES: Center for Addiction Research, Education and Services). She also received the UAMS Outstanding Women’ Faculty Member Award for Excellence in Leadership, Mentoring, Scholarship and Professional Achievement and was honored with an Association for Academic Psychiatry Lifetime Achievement Award.
