Danette Conklin, PhD, practices Clinical and Health Psychology and is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Reproductive Biology at Case Western Reserve University. She earned her PhD at Fielding Graduate University and completed her internship at Wayne State University School of Medicine in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurosciences in Detroit, Michigan. She completed a post-internship at Twin Valley Behavioral Healthcare’s Ohio Department of Mental Health in Columbus, Ohio in Forensics and severe mental illness and completed her post-doctoral fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation’s Neurological Center for Pain, in Chronic Pain Medicine.
Dr. Conklin has dedicated her career to diversity and inclusion and women’s health. She was an honoree in the 10th Anniversary Edition of Who’s Who in Black Cleveland in 2015. She was the first faculty member to be appointed Committee Chair and Convener for the Diversity and Inclusion Committee in the Department of Psychiatry at University Hospitals, Cleveland Medical Center. She served in this position from August, 2019 to July, 2022. Dr. Conklin has served on the North American Menopause’s Education committee since 2014 and was appointed and has served on the Standing Committee on Minority Affairs for Case Western Reserve School of Medicine since 2018.
Currently, Dr. Conklin is the Director of Behavioral Health Services in Bariatric Surgery and Weight Management and the Lead Investigator for Midlife Wellness for Women at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center, Department of Psychiatry.
