Meredith Spada is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Prior to medical school, she earned her masters degree in secondary education from the University of Pennsylvania and taught high school biology and physical science in Philadelphia. She then attended medical school at The Penn State University College of Medicine. She completed general psychiatry residency and child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Western Psychiatric Hospital in 2019. She additionally graduated with certificates from the residency program’s women’s mental health area of concentration and the program’s Academic Administrator, Clinician Educator Track. She is an Associate Program Director for Psychiatry Residency Training and Co-Advisor for the residency program's Academic Administrator, Clinician Educator Track. Clinically, she works on the psychiatry consult service at her institution's tertiary women's hospital and also provides consultation to pediatricians in Western, PA through her institution's telephonic access program. She is passionate about patient care, medical education, and quality improvement, and has led and served as a mentor to many residents on several quality improvement projects.
