Dr. Adrienne Kovacs, a clinical and health psychologist, earned her PhD from the University of Memphis and completed two post-doctoral fellowships in cardiac psychology. She then spent 17 years as a clinician, researcher, and educator fully integrated within cardiology divisions, first at University Health Network in Toronto. In 2016, she moved to Portland, Oregon to lead the Behavioral Cardiovascular Program at Oregon Health & Science University; she was promoted to Full Professor in 2020. Dr. Kovacs is the Past-President of the International Society for Adult Congenital Heart Disease. She has been a chair or co-author of several scientific statements and position papers from the American Heart Association and the European Society of Cardiology. She has over 130 peer-reviewed publications and has given over 150 invited presentations at national and international meetings. In late 2021, Dr. Kovacs returned to her hometown of Toronto where she launched Equilibria Psychological Health. She is now dually focused on the psychological well-being of adults with heart disease as well as health care professionals.
