Dr. Joy J. Choi is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Rochester Medical Center. She is also the Medical Director of the Behavioral Health Clinic in Cardiac Transplant. Dr. Choi completed her Adult Psychiatry Residency training at the Mount Sinai - St. Luke's/West Hospitals in NYC, and graduated from the NYU School of Medicine Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry Fellowship in 2020. Currently she is the transplant psychiatrist for the Advanced Heart Failure Service. In this role, she provides pre- and post-transplant psychiatric evaluations for patients in need of Left Ventricular Assist Device or heart transplantation, as well as general psychiatric consultation to those suffering with advanced heart failure. Dr. Choi's research interests include cognitive impairment in patients with advanced heart failure, as well as cardiac dysfunction in early psychosis.
