Dr. Hager received his medical doctorate from the University of Rochester, and completed psychiatry residency and consultation-liaison psychiatry fellowship at the University of New Mexico. He currently serves as an associate professor of psychiatry at the University of New Mexico, where he teaches students, residents, fellows, and colleagues from multiple disciplines, and directs the UNM/VANMHS consultation-liaison psychiatry fellowship. His clinical work focuses on the psychiatric care of people with HIV, and transgender / gender non-binary persons. He has been a psychiatric consultant to Project ECHO for the past 10 years.
