Dr. Garza is a consultation-liaison psychiatrist embedded on an internal medicine housestaff teaching service at the Columbia Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons. She is also a candidate for certificate in adult psychoanalysis at the Columbia University Center for Psychoanalytic Training and Research. She has studied clinical hypnosis with Dr. Philip Muskin and Melissa Tiers at the Center for Integrative Hypnosis. Dr. Garza's professional interests include psychoanalytic psychotherapy; incorporating complementary treatments such as hypnosis, bright light therapy, and nutritional psychiatry into clinical practice; and issues related to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging within medicine.
