Dr. Madeleine Becker is a Professor of Psychiatry at Thomas Jefferson University, and has a dual appointment in the Department of Integrative Medicine and Nutritional Sciences and in the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior.
Dr. Becker is Director of Medical Education and also as the Program Director for the Fellowship in Integrative Medicine, which she developed in 2019. She is also the Director of the Inpatient Integrative Medicine Consultation Service. Dr. Becker’s clinical and scholarly work focuses on medical education, integrative psychiatric care of the medically ill and in women’s mental health
Dr. Becker has a Master degree in Psychiatry from New York University and has a Master degree in Clinical Health Psychiatry from Yeshiva University. She obtained her MD from Jefferson Medical College and afterwards did her residency training in Psychiatry at University of Pennsylvania. She has worked at Jefferson for 15 yrs, where she developed and served as the Program Director for the fellowship in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry and has served as the director of the Psychiatric Consultation Services. She is board certified in Psychiatry, Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry and Integrative Medicine.
Dr. Becker serves in leadership roles in multiple national organizations including on the American Psychiatric Association (APA) and the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN), as the Chair of the Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry Certification Test Committee. Dr. Becker is currently the President-Elect of the Academy of Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry.
