Cesar A. Gonzalez, PhD, LP, ABPP (he/they) is an assistant professor of psychology and family medicine; he is board-certified in clinical psychology. Dr. Gonzalez became involved in transgender health in 2003 through his work with nonprofit community-based organizations in Los Angeles. In 2010, he completed his two-year research and clinical postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Minnesota Medical School, specializing in transgender health. Dr. Gonzalez serves as the clinical director of the Transgender and Intersex Specialty Care Clinic, an associate program director of the Family Medicine Residency Program, and director of the clinical health psychology fellowship at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Before his position at Mayo Clinic, he served as a faculty member at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Gonzalez is certified in the Standards of Care by the World Professional Association for Transgender Health and has provided gender care to over 1,500 transgender and gender-diverse patients and their families. His professional identity is as a multicultural community-clinical health psychologist whose mission is to improve the health and well-being of socially disadvantaged people through clinical practice, education, research, and mentorship.
