Dr. Shannon Mazur is an assistant professor of psychiatry at Yale School of Medicine and the lead attending for the Yale Psycho-Oncology Program at Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale New Haven Hospital. She is the secretary of the Yale Hospital Adult Ethics Committee. She received her medical degree from Midwestern University. She completed her general psychiatry training at the University of Massachusetts Medical School - Baystate Medical Center, followed by a CL fellowship from Yale. Before attending medical school, she obtained a master's degree in applied philosophy and biomedical ethics from Loyola University of Chicago and taught medical ethics at several local Chicago universities. Within ACLP, Dr. Mazur is the Chair of the Bioethics SIG, a Standards and Ethics Committee member, and a past Web Fellow recipient. Her research has focused on end-of-life care, bioethics, and decision-making capacity.
