For many Consultation-Liaison (CL) psychiatrists who focus on clinical care sharing scholarly output can feel overwhelming. Poster presentations are an important venue for early scholarship; however, many psychiatrists do not convert a successful poster into a publishable manuscript due to lack of knowledge, time, or interest. This highly interactive workshop features a panel of CL psychiatrists with diverse backgrounds who will provide real-time mentorship on turning posters into manuscripts. By matching example 2023 ACLP poster methods and topics to panelists’ expertise we will create an interactive forum for attendees to convert their posters into manuscripts. Panelists will focus on all aspects of the publication process, e.g.: the structure of a manuscript, data presentation, methodological robustness, experimental validity, journal selection, and submission. Leveraging the expertise of grant-funded researchers and academic administrators and educators, we aim to empower the publication of quality improvement projects, case reports, observational and intervention studies, and educational initiatives. We hope to build connection between patient care, education, and research within CL psychiatry to expand the range of peer reviewed publications starting with the integral first poster in the lifespan of creating evidence-based manuscripts. Dr. Gopalan is the Medical Director of the CL service at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and co-chair of the residency academic administrator clinician educator track. She will discuss the process of dissemination as it relates to quality improvement projects, educational initiatives, and clinical care. She will provide a perspective as an academically active, non-funded clinician educator. Dr. Celano is the Associate Director of the Cardiac Psychiatry Research Program at the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), and his research focuses on the development and implementation of collaborative care and health behavior interventions. He will discuss the creation of manuscripts related to treatment development, feasibility studies, and single-arm and randomized clinical trials. Dr. McCoy is the Director of Research at the MGH Center for Quantitative Health where he uses artifacts of routine care to produce real world evidence on diverse clinical questions. He will bring the perspective of generating evidence from preexisting data to the discussion with the goal of demonstrating the breath of possible research activities. Dr. Lee is the John Romano Professor and Chair of psychiatry at University of Rochester Medical Center. As a practicing CL psychiatrist, Dr. Lee has experience in developing clinically innovative ideas, testing them, and disseminating them through publications. Dr. Lee is Editor-in Chief of Journal of the Academy of CL Psychiatry and will help audience members better understand the different types of submission opportunities through the Journal of the Academy of CL Psychiatry. Dr. Gross is the Chief Medical Officer at Unity Center for Behavioral Health and has served in educational leadership positions at Oregon Health & Science University including her past role as associate residency director and CL Fellowship director. In her roles, she seeks to promote scholarly activities for trainees and early career psychiatrists. Dr. Gross will facilitate the discussion between participants and panelists.Learning Objectives:
